Education

I received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston/Clear Lake in 1983. I have a minor in English, but my passion is math. I am certified by the State of Texas to teach math in grades 6 - 12.

Experience

I have taught various levels of math in both high school and junior high for 32 years. I enjoy helping students develop an appreciation, love, and understanding of math. It is important for me to help students identify their strengths and build upon what they know in order to be successful in math. In addition to teaching, I have tutored students ranging from 6th grade to college.

Hobbies

I enjoy running, reading, working out, and traveling. I have run in 5 marathons and more than 30 half marathons. I enjoy traveling both in the US and abroad. My favorite trips in the US are exploring and hiking in the National Parks. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park has been my favorite because of all of the waterfalls and wildlife. Out of all of the countries that I have traveled, Italy has, by far, been my favorite!! I also love spending time with my family and my 2 grandchildren.
